Jordi Huisman
Looked into some photographers such as Joe Baraban and Jordi Huisman with their photography works, and noted how they took pictures of their surroundings.

Observation
I have conducted a three-week observation from May 30 to June 20, and around 100 photos were collected. During this observation, it was intended for me to keep an eye on how the colours in my surroundings changed. Besides, many things were previously unnoticed were also discovered through this observation.
The photos were arranged in two ways, which are by date and by time, both shows a different colour schemes and feelings:

Printing & Cutting

All of the photos were printed in small sizes to displayed on the exhibition. I arranged them on a paper first in order to see how it would looks like.

Process

The photos in the book were categorised by emotions, and it was designed in a more free and casual way, experimenting with interesting layouts.

Book Outline
Different songs that evoked different feelings are used to represent each chapters, and I also experimented with the designs and layouts:

I tried out a couple of cover designs, and the one on the right is the final design. "Colours In The Moment" was chosen as the title of this project as it communicates my concept well. I combined all the colour palettes in the book to design the cover.

Printing & Cutting
_edited.jpg)
Everything from cutting to binding are all done by myself, and due to the size, margins, and other factors, I reprinted several times for this book.

Different binding methods were explored. Coptic stitch binding and staple saddle stitch binding were initially tried, but they weren't the greatest option as they don’t have a very appealing appearance.
Hence, I attempted thread saddle stitch binding, which was the one that worked the best.
